Turkish stocks up at weekly open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 4.956,02 points, up by 0.64%, or 31.38 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed last week at 4,924.64 points, up 0.24%, with a daily trading volume of 39.22 billion Turkish liras ($2.05 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.2660 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.0160, while a British pound traded for 23.9320 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $85.16 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,011.55.
