Turkish, US defense chiefs discuss Syria, regional defense
Yasar Guler, Lloyd Austin also discuss bilateral ties during phone call, says Turkish National Defense Ministry

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin discussed regional defense and security issues, especially Syria, in a phone call on Tuesday, Türkiye's National Defense Ministry said on X.
Guler and Austin also discussed bilateral ties during the call, the ministry added.
The call came amid the transition in Syria after the fall earlier this month of the Assad regime.
