Türkiye 'strongly' condemns PKK's terror propaganda during European Parliament session
Incident reveals weakness, insincerity of European Union and, in particular, EP in fight against terrorism, says Turkish Foreign Ministry
By Merve Aydogan
ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye on Wednesday lashed out at the European Parliament (EP) for allowing propaganda to be displayed by the PKK terror group during a plenary session.
Saying that it is "unacceptable" for terror group PKK-affiliates to "easily enter the EP and demonstrate as they wish," a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement said not intervening against these individuals immediately is "a peculiarity."
It further said the incident "reveals the inability and insincerity of the European Union and, in particular, the EP in the fight against terrorism."
PKK supporters have been known to hold demonstrations in front of the Council of Europe and EU institutions.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people.
