Turkiye's benchmark stock index up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,461.96 points on Thursday, rising 10.53 points, or 0.43%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.37% to 2,451.43 points on Wednesday, with a daily trading volume of 40.6 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 14.7920 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), versus 14.8310 at the previous close.

The euro/lira exchange rate fell to 15.5748 versus 15.6220, while a British pound traded for 18.5497 liras, down from 18.6120.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $104.3 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while the price of one ounce of gold was $1,881.9.
