Türkiye's BIST 100 closes midweek in the red

ANKARA (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 9,719.81 points, falling 0.89% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 87.29 points on Wednesday with a daily transaction volume of 104.1 billion liras ($2.90 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,898.11, while Brent crude oil sold for around $75.25 per barrel as of 6.04 p.m. local time (1504GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 35.9054, the euro/lira exchange rate was 37.4904, and the British pound traded at 44.9680 liras.
