Türkiye's BIST 100 closes Wednesday on low note

Türkiye's benchmark stock index plunged 1.81% to close Wednesday at 10,486.70 points.

After starting the day at 10,680.50 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 193.28 points from Tuesday's close with a daily transaction volume of 82.1 billion liras ($2.50 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,313.95, while Brent crude oil sold for around $84.00 per barrel as of 6.26 p.m. local time (1526GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 32.8450, the euro/lira exchange rate 35.1236, and the British pound traded at 41.4730 liras.
