Türkiye's BIST 100 hits fresh closing high

Benchmark index gains 111.02 points at daily close on Monday

Türkiye's benchmark stock index notched a fresh record closing high on Monday at 8,776.70 points, up 1.28% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 gained 111.02 points from Friday's close of 8,665.68.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 7.5 trillion liras ($244.9 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 106 billion liras ($3.46 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,032.15 while Brent crude oil sold for around $76.72 per barrel as of 6.48 p.m. local time (1549GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 30.5523, the euro/lira exchange rate was at 32.7974, and the British pound traded at 38.2467 liras.
