Türkiye's BIST 100 hits fresh closing high

Benchmark index gains 68.23 points at daily close on Friday

Türkiye's benchmark stock index notched a fresh record closing high on Friday at 10,276.88 points, up 0.67% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 gained 68.23 points from Thursday's close of 10,208.65.

On a weekly basis, the index gained more than 3.64% on Friday.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 8.8 trillion liras ($272.5 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 69 billion liras ($2.14 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,301.65 while Brent crude oil sold for around $83.48 per barrel as of 6.06 p.m. local time (1506GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 32.3424, the euro/lira exchange rate was at 34.8614, and the British pound traded at 40.5966 liras.
