Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes in the red

ANKARA (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at 10,364.56 points, falling 1.82% from the previous day.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 lost 192.24 points from Monday's close of 10,556.80 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 8.9 trillion liras ($275 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 107 billion liras ($3.3 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,343.75, while Brent crude oil sold for around $77.33 per barrel as of 6.12 p.m. local time (1512GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 32.5044, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 35.4123, while the British pound traded at 41.5517 liras.
