Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes Monday in positive territory

Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Monday at 7,818.89 points, surging 2.49% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 190.16 points from last week's close of 7,628.73.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.7 trillion liras ($223.2 billion), with a daily trading volume of 96 billion liras ($3.2 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,042.15, while Brent crude oil sold for around $75.94 per barrel as of 7 pm local time (1600GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.8944, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.8336, while a British pound traded for 38.1130 liras.
