Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes Monday in red

Benchmark index dives 178.81 points at daily close

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 8,146.49 points, diving 2.15% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 8,385.55 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 178.81 points from Friday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 8,127.07, while its daily high was 8,403.81.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 6.9 trillion Turkish liras ($257.5 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 153 billion Turkish liras ($5.68 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,946.25, while Brent crude oil sold for around $90.78 per barrel as of 6.55 p.m. local time (1555GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.8839, the euro/lira exchange rate was 28.8961, and the British pound traded at 33.6755 Turkish liras.
