Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes Monday with losses

ANKARA (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Monday at 7,790.42 points, plunging 2.54% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 7,957.51 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 203.43 points compared to Friday's closing value.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,035.85, while Brent crude oil sold for $79.25 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.0576, the euro/lira exchange rate was 31.7503, and the British pound traded at 36.7505 liras.
