Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes Thursday at record high

Benchmark index hikes 149.46 points at daily close

Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at a record high of 8,646.12 points, rising 1.76% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 gained 149.46 points from Wednesday's close of 8,496.66.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 7.4 trillion liras ($242.6 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 113 billion liras ($3.73 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,067.75, while Brent crude oil sold for around $81.28 per barrel as of 6.48 p.m. local time (1548GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 30.3303, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.9115, while the British pound traded at 38.4556 liras.
