Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes Tuesday in the red

ANKARA (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index fell 0.82% to close Tuesday at 10,679.98 points.

After starting the day at 10.780,64 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 87.87 points from Monday's close with a daily transaction volume of 126.5 billion liras ($3.84 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,338.35, while Brent crude oil sold for around $85.00 per barrel as of 6.08 p.m. local time (1508GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 32.9590, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 35.3229, while the British pound traded at 41.7906 liras.
