Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes Tuesday with strong gains

Benchmark index up 103.65 points at daily close

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 7,784.01 points, rising 1.35% from the previous close.

After starting the day at 7,696.77 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 103.65 points from Monday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 7,644.68, while its daily high was 7,804.05.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.6 trillion Turkish liras ($245.2 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 114 billion liras ($4.22 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,954.90, while Brent crude oil sold for around $95.56 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0331, the euro/lira exchange rate was 28.9162, and the British pound traded at 33.5153 liras.
