Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes Wednesday in green

Benchmark index gains 137.90 points at midweek close

Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 7,874.16 points, up 1.78% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 7,733.72 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 gained 137.90 points from Tuesday's close.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.7 trillion Turkish liras ($223.7 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 100 billion Turkish liras ($3.34 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,030.80, while Brent crude oil sold for around $78.31 per barrel as of 6.26 p.m. local time (1526GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 29.9679, the euro/lira exchange rate was at 32.8395, and the British pound traded at 38.1064 liras.
