_ Türkiye's BIST 100 index down 3.2% at Thursday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 13,804.21 points, down 3.2% day-on-day.

After starting the day at 14,340.28 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 455.69 points from Wednesday's close.

The lowest value of the index was 13,728.64, while the daily high was 14,343.11.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 13.7 trillion Turkish liras ($314.18 billion), with a trading volume of 222 billion liras ($5.07 billion).

Six stocks on the index rose and 93 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $5,009.10 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $71.10 per barrel as of 6.30 pm local time (1530GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.7700, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 51.6080, and the British pound traded for 59.0404 liras.
