Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the midweek at 7,662.26 points, down 0.37% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 7,685.25 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 28.49 points from Tuesday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 7,588.91, while its daily high was 7,734.41, a historic high.

The market value of BIST 100 was around 6.5 trillion Turkish liras ($239.7 billion) by market close.

The daily trading volume was 146 billion Turkish liras ($5.39 billion).

Some 56 stocks gained value, while 43 lost.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,933.90, while Brent crude oil sold for $84.90 per barrel as of 6.35 p.m. local time (1535GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0610, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.5230, while the British pound traded at 34.5080 Turkish liras.
