Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at close

Benchmark BIST 100 index loses 28.5 points

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 8,213.76 points, down 0.35% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 8,275.14 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 28.5 points from Tuesday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 8,170.89, while its daily high was 8,298.65.

The market value of BIST 100 was around 6.94 trillion Turkish liras ($254.6 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 141.7 billion Turkish liras ($5.2 billion).

Some 44 stocks gained value, while 55 declined.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,901.05, while Brent crude oil sold for around $94.4 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.3080, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.7250, and the British pound traded at 33.1520 Turkish liras.
