Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at open

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,076.89 points on Tuesday, down 0.38%, or 19.4 points, from the previous close.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 1.84% to close the day at 5,096.29, with a daily trading volume of 76 billion Turkish liras ($4.03 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8117 as of 10.12 a.m. local time (0712GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.3930, while a British pound traded for 23.2312 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $84.11 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,914.55.
