Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Monday down

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 9,306.96 points, down 1.33% from the previous close.

Starting the week at 9,457.25 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 125.59 points from Friday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 9,306.96, while its daily high was 9,464.53.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 8.48 trillion Turkish liras ($221.8 billion), with a daily trading volume of 89 billion Turkish liras ($2.31 billion).

During the day, 17 stocks on the index rose and 82 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,333.60, while Brent crude oil sold for around $64.60 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 38.4290, while the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.7610, with one British pound trading for 51.4940 Turkish liras.
