Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Monday flat

Benchmark index loses 8.1 points on first transaction day of the week

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 11,279.95 points, slightly down 0.07% from the previous close.

After starting the week at 11,308.24 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 8.10 points from Friday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 11,244.28, while its daily high was 11,334.42.

During the day, 47 stocks on the index rose and 51 fell compared to the previous close.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 10.48 trillion Turkish liras ($255.96 billion), with a daily trading volume of 114 billion Turkish liras ($2.77 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,475.55, while Brent crude oil sold for around $68.05 per barrel as of 6.30 pm local time (1530GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 41.1115, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 48.1560, while one British pound traded for 55.7415 Turkish liras.
