Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Monday with gains

Benchmark index earns almost 240 points on 1st transaction day of week

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 7,750.39 points, up 3.19% from the previous close.

Starting the new week at 7,649.39 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 239.71 points from Friday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 7,520.13, while its daily high was 7,794.54.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.7 trillion Turkish liras ($239.7 billion), with a daily trading volume of 99 billion Turkish liras ($3.54 billion).

During the day, 96 stocks on the index rose and four fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,989.45, while Brent crude oil sold for around $91.50 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.0580 and the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.8455, and a British pound traded for 34.2950 Turkish liras.
