Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Thursday at record high

Benchmark index earns 123.3 points at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 12,851.49 points, up 0.97% day-on-day, hitting a record high close.

Opening the day at 12,771.45 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 123.31 points from Wednesday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 12,682.50, while the daily high was 12,861.95.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 12.7 trillion Turkish liras ($293.2 billion), with a trading volume of 84 billion liras ($1.94 billion).

Eighty-four stocks on the index rose and 13 declined compared to the previous close.

The price of gold was $4,850.70 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $63.60 per barrel as of 6.25 pm local time (1525GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.2680, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 50.8490,
