Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Thursday in green side

Benchmark index earns around 124 points on 4th transaction day of week

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 7,978.82 points, increasing 1.58% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 7,867.68 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 123.76 points from the midweek's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 7,747.49, while its daily high was 7,978.82.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.77 trillion Turkish liras ($234.6 billion), with a daily trading volume of 84 billion Turkish liras ($2.9 billion).

During the day, 81 stocks on the index rose and 17 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,043.65, while Brent crude oil sold for around $74.90 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9315 and the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 31.2390, and a British pound traded for 36.3460 Turkish liras.
