Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Tuesday up

ISTANBUL (AA)—Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at 11,220.17 points, increasing 0.62%.

After starting the day at 11,172.63 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 69.27 points from Monday's close.

The lowest value of the index was 11,102.18, while the daily high was 11,235.51.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 10.6 trillion Turkish liras ($247.2 billion), with a trading volume of 115 billion liras ($2.67 billion).

Some 65 stocks on the index rose and 35 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $4,366.90 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $61.60 per barrel as of 6.35 pm local time (1635GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 42.9450, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 50.5020, and the British pound traded for 57.8920 liras.
