Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Wednesday in the red

Benchmark index loses 84.21 points at daily close

Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 8,009.33 points, falling 1.04% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 8,118.22 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 lost 84.21 points from Thursday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 7,993.09, while its daily high was 8,125.12.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.8 trillion liras ($236.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 82 billion liras ($2.84 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,042, while Brent crude oil sold for around $81.81 per barrel as of 7.29 p.m. local time (1629GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 28.9032, the euro/lira exchange rate at 31.7139, and the British pound traded at 36.6262 liras.
