Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends week on low note

Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Friday at 9,821.96 points, plunging 1.61% from the previous day.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 161.02 points with a daily trading volume of 76 billion liras ($2.26 billion).

On a weekly basis, the index fell 0.86% at Friday's close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,526.10, while Brent crude oil sold for around $79.75 per barrel as of 6.22 p.m. local time (1522GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 33.7007, euro/lira at 37.0428, while a British pound traded for 43.4579 liras.
