Türkiye's BIST 100 index falls below 10K at Monday close

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Monday at 9,997.66 points, falling 1.26% from the previous day.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 127.80 points, with a daily trading volume of 69.5 billion liras ($2 billion).

As of 6:51 p.m. local time (1551GMT), the price of an ounce of gold stood at $2,672.24, while Brent crude oil was priced around $74.12 per barrel.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 34.9548, the euro/lira at 36.7763, and the British pound traded for 44.3524 liras.
