Türkiye's BIST 100 index hits new all-time high at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 11,313.90 points, up 1.61%, an all-time high closing level.

Starting the day at 11,195.98 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 179.17 points from Wednesday's close.

The lowest value was 11,187.00, while the daily high was 11,334.48, an all-time high.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 10.5 trillion Turkish liras ($257.2 billion), with a trading volume of 145.3 billion Turkish liras ($3.55 billion).

Some 78 stocks on the index rose and 22 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $3,340.30 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $66.80 per barrel as of 6.25 p.m. local time (1525GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 40.9385, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 47.6710, while the British pound traded for 55.1090 Turkish liras.
