Türkiye's BIST 100 index opens Friday down

ISTANBUL (AA) -Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the last trading day of the week at 14,158.97 points, down 0.15%, or 21.52 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 climbed 2.85% to close at a record high of 14,180.48 points, with a daily transaction volume of 274.6 billion liras ($6.3 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.7380 liras to the US dollar, 51.8640 to the euro, and 59.4810 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,957.85, while Brent crude oil was trading at $67.15 per barrel.
