Türkiye’s BIST 100 index up at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye’s benchmark stock index BIST 100 increased by 0.26% or 22.94 points to open Friday at 8,987.04 points, versus previous close.

On Thursday, the index went down by 1.84% to 8,964.10 points with a daily transaction volume of 66.96 billion Turkish liras ($1.96 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 34.2955 as of 9.50 am (0650GMT), while EUR/TRY rate was at 38.4985 and GBP/TRY at 44.7520.

The ounce price of gold was at $2,638.85 and the price of Brent oil per barrel was at around $78.20.
