Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at Thursday open

BIST 100 index up by almost 5.5 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,048.35 points on Thursday, up 5.49 points, or 0.27%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index was up 1.78% to close Wednesday at 2,042.85 points.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 13.5580 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 13.5940 at Wednesday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate fell slightly to 15.4905 from 15.5360, while a British pound traded for 18.3500 liras, down from 18.4960 at the last close.

Brent crude oil sold for around $91.10 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
