Türkiye's BIST 100 index up at Thursday's close

Benchmark index gains 76.28 points at closing session

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,475.21 points, up 0.81%, or 76.28 points from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index started the day at 9,451.26, gaining 52.33 points from Wednesday's close.

The lowest point for the index was 9,353.85, while the daily high was 9,521.03.

During the day, 53 indexes gained in value while 44 closed with losses.

The daily transaction volume reached 103.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.67 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.63 trillion liras ($222.8 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 38.9140 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 44.0190, and the British pound traded at 52.4280.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,291.30, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $63.85.
