Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at Tuesday open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,401.23 points on Tuesday, rising 10.44 points, or 0.44%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 1.18% to end Monday at 2,390.79 points, with a daily trading volume of 34.3 billion liras ($2.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 15.6651 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), up from 15.5730 at Monday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 16.3695 from 16.2160, while a British pound traded for 19.4000 liras, up from 19.1470 at the last close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $114.30 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while the ounce price of gold was at $1,827.10.
