Türkiye's BIST 100 index up at weekly close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the week at 7,706.41 points on Friday, up 0.58% from Thursday.

After starting the last transaction day of the week at 7,677.78 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 44.36 points from the previous close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 7,500.54, while its daily high was 7,740.52.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.6 trillion Turkish liras ($236.9 billion), with a daily trading volume of 103 billion liras ($3.66 billion).

During the day, 50 stocks on the index rose and 46 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,990.65, while Brent crude oil sold for around $88.80 per barrel as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.1910, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.8710, and the British pound traded for 34.2360 liras.
