Türkiye's BIST 100 index up over 3.1% at closing session

ISTANBUL (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 7,662.05 points, up 3.19% from Wednesday.

Starting Thursday at 7,516.50 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 237.08 points from Wednesday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 7,384.45, while its daily high was 7,741.33.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.6 trillion Turkish liras ($235.9 billion), with a trading volume of 139 billion liras ($4.95 billion).

During the day, 96 stocks gained value and three stocks declined compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,988.10, while Brent crude oil sold for around $89.15 per barrel as of 5.50 p.m. local time (1450GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.1620, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.6735 while a British pound traded for 34.1320 liras.
