Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul breaks 3-day losing streak on Thursday

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index finished Thursday at 4,970.71 points, ending three consecutive days of losses.

After starting the day at 4,849.57 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 5.11%, or 241.83 points, from Wednesday's close of 4,728.88.

The index's lowest value during the day was 4,601.25, while its daily high was 4,977.33.

The daily trading volume was 118 billion Turkish liras ($6.3 billion); 98 stocks on the index posted gains while two were down during the day.

The price of gold was at $1,890 per ounce, while Brent crude oil stood at $83.78 per barrel at 6.30 p.m. local time (15.30GMT).
