Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul down at close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index was at 2,540.36 points at Wednesday's close, down 4.07%.

Starting the day at 2,667.54 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 107.83 points from the previous close of 2,648.19 points.

The index's lowest value during the day was 2,532.74 points, while its daily high was 2,684.77 points – all time high.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2.07 trillion Turkish liras ($123.8 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 58.9 billion Turkish liras ($3.15 billion).

During the day, six stocks on the index rose and 94 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,860.6, while Brent crude oil sold at around $121.94 per barrel as of 6.22 p.m. local time (1522GMT).
