Turkiye's Borsa Istanbul down at midweek's close
BIST 100 index loses 36.2 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye’s benchmark stock index was down 1.45% to end Wednesday at 2,453.94 points.
After starting the midweek at 2,498.56 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 36.23 points from the previous close of 2,490.17 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 2,428.75, while its daily high was 2,500.89.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.99 trillion Turkish liras ($131.18 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 40.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.64 billion).
During the third transaction day of the week, 16 stocks on the index rose, 83 fell and one was unchanged compared to the previous close.
Energy firm Dogu Aras Enerji was the best performer of the day with its shares up by 4.98%, while electric distributor Esenboga Electrik suffered the most, losing 6.73%.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,852.76 and Brent crude oil was at roughly $107.4 per barrel as of 6.42 p.m. local time (1542GMT).
