Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul down over 7% at Thursday close

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index finished Thursday at 5,116.41 points, down 7.37% from the previous close, the largest decrease since last February.

After starting the day at 5,555.99 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 407.08 points from Wednesday's close of 5,523.49.

The index's lowest value during the day was 5,116.41, while its daily high was 5,566.98.

The daily trading volume was at 123,9 billion Turkish liras ($6.6 billion) and all stocks on the index posted losses during the day.

The price of gold was down 1.13% to $1,838 per ounce, while Brent crude oil price was at $78.10 per barrel for a 0.39% gain at 6.10 p.m. local time (15.10GMT).
