Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul starts week looking up

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,270.61 points on Monday, up 1.08%, or 56.32 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.49% to close the last week at 5.270,61 points, with a daily trading volume of 117 billion Turkish liras ($6.27 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6484 as of 10.07 a.m. local time (0707GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.8207, and a British pound traded for 22.7243 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $79.28 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,801.05.
