Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at open

BIST 100 index gains around 40 points in opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 3,441.88 points on Thursday, up 1.15%, or 39.07 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.34% to end Wednesday at a record high close of 3,402.81 points with a daily trading volume of 99.4 billion Turkish liras ($5.4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 18.2380 as of 10.25 a.m. local time (0725GMT), versus 18.2200 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 18.2140 from 18.0710, while a British pound traded for 20.9610 Turkish liras, up from 20.8750.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $88.7 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,729.65.
