Türkiye's capacity utilization slightly up in September

ISTANBUL (AA) - The capacity utilization rate for the Turkish manufacturing industry saw a slight increase of 0.2 percentage points to 75.9% in September versus August, according to the findings of a Turkish Central Bank survey released on Tuesday.

Data showed that the highest utilization in this month was 76.1% in investment goods, and the lowest rate was 73.6% in consumer goods.

Broken down by sector, the highest capacity usage was in the manufacture of paper products at 83.1%, while the lowest, 61.4%, was in leather products.

Capacity utilization rate figures are based on responses to a business tendency survey of local units operating in the manufacturing industry.

The Turkish Central Bank said 1,766 companies responded to the survey this month, and the data does not reflect the bank's views or predictions.
