Turkiye's current account balance sees $3.84B deficit in December
Deficit up $400M versus same month last year, Central Bank figures show

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's current account balance posted a $3.84 billion deficit in December 2021, up $401 million year-on-year, according to official data announced Friday.
The country's 12-month rolling deficit totaled $14.9 billion, figures released by the Turkish Central Bank showed.
The gold- and energy-excluded current account posted a $2.27 billion surplus compared to a $700 million surplus in December 2020.
An Anadolu Agency survey last week showed that a group of 27 economists projected the current account balance would post a $3.98 billion deficit in November.
The end-2021 current account balance was expected to register a deficit of $14.6 billion, with estimates ranging between $12.5 billion and $15.7 billion.
In November, the current account posted a $2.68 billion deficit.
