Türkiye’s Diyanet Foundation distributes Ramadan food packages in Zambia
Organization also drills 14 boreholes to facilitate access to water by communities

LUSAKA, Zambia (AA) - A team from Türkiye’s Diyanet Foundation that is visiting Zambia distributed 800 food packages for families in need of aid on Thursday.
Every year during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holiday that follows, the foundation aids communities in Zambia with various supplements to improve their livelihoods.
During the visit, the foundation also drilled 14 boreholes and installed solar-powered fountains, its representative, Lutfullah Sarigul, said in the capital, Lusaka.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Zambia, Istem Circiroglu, said Turkish assistance to Zambia will continue with the Turkish Disaster Management Authority and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency making contributions for food relief in Zambia through the southern African nation’s Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit before the end of Ramadan.
