Türkiye's poultry production down in H1
Chicken, turkey meat production down, while egg production up in January-June period, says Turkish Statistical Institute

ISTANBUL (AA) - Chicken meat production in Türkiye went down by 5.5% in the first half of this year on an annual basis, the country's statistical authority announced Wednesday.
Chicken meat production amounted to 1.1 million tons in the first half, while turkey meat production dropped by 8.2% to stand at 23,239 tons, a Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) report said.
The figure for slaughtered chicken was 617,257 million units, down 8.8% over the same period, the institute noted.
Meanwhile, hen egg production in Türkiye totaled 9.9 billion units, up by 3.3% year-on-year during the January-June period.
In June alone, chicken meat production dropped by 19.7% to 176,179 tons, while egg production was up by 3.7% to 1.5 billion units.
