Turkiye's stocks up at Friday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,437.15 points on Friday, rising 8.73 points, or 0.36%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.94% to 2,428.42 points on Thursday, with a daily trading volume of 36.7 billion Turkish liras ($2.48 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 14.7925 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), versus 14.8030 at the previous close.

The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 15.6003 versus 15.5320, while a British pound traded for 18.5375 Turkish liras, up from 18.4250.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $108.2 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while the price of one ounce of gold was $1,911.6.
