TurkTraktor produces 1 millionth tractor body

ANKARA (AA) - One of Turkey's leading tractor makers on Tuesday announced that it had manufactured its 1 millionth tractor body.

Domestic production is among TurkTraktor's top priorities, the company's assistant general manager for production, Nabi Dogan Ozdongu, said in a statement.

Underlining that TurkTraktor manufactured and exported its own engines, Ozdongu said the firm also supported Turkey's foreign trade potential with its exports of tractor bodies, which include the vehicle's transmission, gearbox, reducer and hydraulic lift.

As one of the only companies in the market with a domestic production rate of more than 90%, TurkTraktor is also the only manufacturer in the sector able to produce bodies suitable for tractors of different capacities from 48 to 140 horsepower, the firm said in its statement.

Along with its global partner CNH Industrial, TurkTraktor's tractor body production facility is the largest in the world, it added.

A joint venture between CNH Industrial and Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding, the company was founded in 1954 and makes tractors, engines, transmissions, and front and rear axles. It is one of the leading manufacturers in Turkey and exports to more than 130 countries.

CNH Industrial designs, produces and sells agricultural and construction equipment, trucks, commercial vehicles, buses and special vehicles. The company has brands known worldwide, including Iveco and Magirus.
