The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Turkish capital Ankara organized an event Thursday as part of March 8 International Women's Day.
It was attended by Ambassador Saeed Thani Hareb Al Dhaheri, Deputy Ambassador Moza Al Hosani and many other guests.
Speaking at the event, which began with the screening of a video titled Women's Determination and Will, which emphasized women's rights and gender equality, Al Hosani said they appreciate the efforts of Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan in empowering women.
She said the achievements of women in the UAE are the result of the support of the UAE's founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his son Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the vision pursued by the state.
Noting that UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan continues to support this vision and strengthening the role of women in all fields and sectors, Al Hosani said her country ranked first in gender equality in the Arab world according to the UN Development Program in 2020.
Regarding relations with Türkiye, she said: "In the coming period, we expect further cooperation between the two friendly countries in the field of women's empowerment."
She stressed that as the UAE Embassy in Ankara, they carried out Turkish women’s empowerment projects in Adiyaman province in 2023 which benefited more than 5,000 people.
Both countries believe that women should be empowered in all sectors for the development of society, she said.
The deputy ambassador wished Turkish women, Emirati women and all the women of the world many more Women's Days of happiness, blessings, abundance and prosperity.
